Making A Gratitude List
When you give thanks everyday it can make a difference in your life and affect your overall health and well being. Giving thanks on a regular basis brings harmony and light to your world. There are so many benefits to writing a gratitude list each day. The gifts that have been given to us from other people can be as simple as a smile or a generous gesture from family or friends. The point is, that it doesn’t have to be a tangible gift. We can all find something to give thanks for each day. Writing them down is a way to capture the moments and reflect on all that is good in our lives. When we are able to recognize these gifts it affects us in many ways, both mentally and physically.
Getting started with a gratitude list is easy, all you need is a notebook or journal, pen or pencil, and some quiet time. Setting aside at least 30 minutes each day to reflect on the past twenty four hours is key. At the top of each page write the date and also write down these words, ‘Today I Am Grateful For’. Think about a specific moment during your day, a moment that made you feel good or helped you out in some way. Or it could even be something that you did for another person or a conversation. Make sure the list contains detailed information about each grateful moment. If you said that you were grateful for your family, that is really nice but it is boring. You should be very specific about the thing that you are grateful. You could write, ‘I am grateful for my little sister because she was kind enough to give me a ride to work, even though it was out of her way’. This type of gratitude has more meaning, and it identifies a gifted moment in time.
Try making a gratitude list for the next seven days and then write a post about your experiences. Write about how you felt and what miracles small or big that blessed your life.
